if we could journey back to the start I would show you much more than the art of Johnny Cale you are the only one who understands the cage the fire extinguisher of all of my doubts cos I don't belong here, been in a buried sphere crashed to the ground, it's so hard to kick out against the pricks, against the pricks light shines around, the landscape has changed your weaknesses audited, you've been rearranged love things and mean things, I know what they mean things crash to the ground, it's so hard to kick out against the pricks against the pricks, against the pricks, against the pricks

keep it simple, keep it under wraps and whatever you do, don't expect too much keep it under, keep it under wraps embrace obscurity you must cos I was juggling a world without and one within we were a long way from the top but a whole lot closer to where we want to be I was juggling a world without, where we could be free you struggle for the attention of a limited demographic on various platforms you struggle with these concepts intellectually whether you should call yourself an artist or just a dedicated hobbyist cos I was juggling a world without and one within we were a long way from the top but a whole lot closer to where we want to be I was juggling a world without, where we could be free where we could be free, without a free lobotomy where we could be free

Brett was gazing out upon the pouring rain sitting in his turret down in Lavender Bay, well thinks about the death of the American Dream all those burnt out junkies in the Chelsea scene, well who can hear the Alchemy sound? ooh, can it be found? Dire Straits were looking for a cover that day Brett, he's drinking coffee, Tropicana Cafe, well it could be a Redhead in the afterglow the gallery, the vultures at the opening show, oh no! who can hear the Alchemy sound? ooh, can it be found? Brett, he's sending postcards from the afterlife written to the Ghost Of An Ideal Wife it could be the lonely sound, a falling tree but I can tell you nothing is the way that it seems I can tell you nothing is the way that it seems nothing nothing nothing nothing who can hear the Alchemy sound? ooh, can it be found?

Living Time 05:01
I really liked the shirt you wore you played the Chemical Blues I saw you at the Annandale you were wearing pointed shoes and it's only, only living time and it's only, only living time when I gave up psychedelics I had a lot more time to use Sure miss you in those memories was a lot that we went through and it's only, only living time and it's only, only living time I saw you in a photograph in a handpainted movie you were standing there you looked so Velvet Underground we said our goodbyes at the bridge and I caught a taxi home we were only living time now you've disappeared from view I saw you in a photograph in a handpainted movie you were standing there you left that velvet on the ground we said our goodbyes at the bridge and I caught a taxi home we were only living time now you've disappeared from view (not a lot that I could do) really liked the dress you wore and the way you cut your hair you may say I've seen the light but I'm hiding from the glare and it's only, only living time only, only living time

Really Here 02:29
we gathered fragments of dreams and I was miming the scenes for you, scenes for you didn't know what to do, didn't know we were so uncool before the habit is formed and the storm forewarned I told you, yes I told you that you might be on the run but just don't be the smoking gun smoking gun, check your facts the challenger swings faster every year whatever you hold close could disappear but you'll always have the tracks I left keep on telling you over and over keep on telling you that I was really here we go along to the show and the lights they're all down low, really low and on the way back home, you check your messages nice and slow, as we go before we get to the end, we'll look back at the time we had time we had I try to make it slow down but it's like pushing a stream uphill, stream uphill, send a fax he calendar spins faster every year whatever you thought lost will re-appear but you'll always have the tracks I left keep on telling you over and over keep on telling you over and over, keep on telling you over and over, keep on telling you, keep on telling you, keep on telling you I was really here

Breadcrumbs 02:44
lights are out for Big Other it's just a drug designed for you you've got 'friends' you've got 'followers' that's all expected of you you tap gently, smile brightly, endorphins firing, you've been rewarded but tell me, how long can this all go on? 'cos we'll never know how much was lost and what was shaken until we see the future that we leave behind and we'll never know how much was lost we've been mistaken until we see the future that we left behind your private thoughts that once were treasured is now the stuff Big Other needs to survice your every 'like' your every swipe you every linger has now been rendered but tell me how long can this all go on? we'll never know how much was lost or what was taken until we see the future that we've left behind we'll never know how much was lost or what was shaken until we see the future that we've left behind you'll be amazed when the dream you had last night turns up on, right there on your newsfeed you'll be amazed when the scream you screamed last night turn up on, right there on your newsfeed baby! (you'll be amazed)

Sacred Cow 03:25
we've been running, running to the end of the road time is coming to shuffle out from under the load tell the future, you're future looking just like the past and now we wonder, the planet, is it going to last? it's nothing new, something we were gonna do maybe now, it's time to kill the sacred cow rain won't fall down, if you've got your head underground what goes 'round comes round, we're burning up the birds in the clouds we have gone out, way beyond the comfort zone and now we find out, it's not about the things that we own t's nothing new, something we were gonna do maybe now, it's time to kill the sacred cow t's nothing new, something we were gonna do maybe now, it's time to kill the sacred cow time to kill the sacred but all the trees and birds are sacred everything that has breath is sacred can anybody tell me how? time to kill the sacred tell me how, how to kill the sacred cow?

Endless Sea 05:09
in the gasping dizzy doldrums I was backwards working on the drums it was all I had left in me, I'm a monkey typing without thumbs driving to The Undies, all these Melbourne independent dreams like a magnet moves the filings, I was praying behind the scenes and you and me, we see the sea and you and me, walk upon, upon the endless sea all these uploads yes they're endless how will the punters ever find us in the this? we could use some kind of promo to cut through this deep and digital abyss I was screaming to New Order I was standing in the drain talking to sweet Lorraine knew we had to find new meanings cos we're looping around to come up behind you again and you and me, we see the sea and you and me, walk upon, upon the endless sea the endless sea, the endless sea we walk upon the endless sea and we see all those things entwined and I remember the washing on the line and we see all those things entwine and I remember the water and the wine upon the endless sea the endless sea the endless sea we walk upon the endless sea no darks clouds are following me upon the endless sea

about

This album was recorded live at the very end of 2019 at the Moshpit, Erskineville, who along with Ravi's Parliament On King, are among the dwindling number venues who will allow 'unprocessed' bands like SaMe THeRaPy to play on occasion: doing originally penned songs, ever changing set lists and with extremely limited promo shtick. Support on the night was provided by Bigger Than Rod and Miaow, with Men From Uncle closing the night with their barbarous brand of 60s garage rock.

Special thanks goes to my nephew, the talented Lucas George (Arocities, Whipped Cream Chargers, Lo Vision, Real Love et. al.), who was up from his base in Melbourne for Christmas, had a listen to our rehearsal recording and came along on the night to add keys relaying a tiny 'Yamaha Portasound' through some guitar pedals and Arron's Bassman to add some atmosphere.

Who would have thought that within days, the entire south coast of NSW to Victoria and eventually the ACT, would be engulfed in the worst bushfires in the history of Oz? Or that, 2020 would become what it became? The mind boggles... Live music has been switched off nationally (like so many human endeavours and commerce), with pale facsimiles of personal contact pervading the online space. It is time to reconsider our approach to so many Sacred Cows...

Special thanks here to Tony Peterson, for hosting us on his 'Dance To The Radio Show' on 2SSR (Oct 9, 2020), to launch this live recording and do what we like to do - play music to unsuspecting audiences. You just never know who is out there in community radio land. You were one of the few...
